Training

Now that our pitch is down we can get into the normal swing of training. Training will be every Thurday evening, 6.40pm meet to do stretches and warm-up ready for a prompt 7pm start on the pitch.

New Pitch

The pitch is finished! It was completed ready for the Uni games on wednesday and the first Bristol-UWE side to play on it was Bristol-UWE C!
For those of you that don't know, it is the same pitch as built for the Athens Olympics and so is top quality.
Due to the different nature of the pitch compared to a sand based I would encourage everyone to come to training to get used to it.

National Performance Centres Announced

England Hockey:
England Hockey is delighted to announce that four National Performance Centres (NPC) have been selected to work in partnership with the National Governing Body to deliver key areas of the Single System, including talent selection supporting hockey�s performance objectives. The centres will provide excellence in training facilities and the delivery of a world class hockey programme for selected players aged 18-23 years.

This is a great opportunity for UWE and us as a partner club to increase our standing in the hockey community.

Pre Season Training

The new pitch is not finished yet, so our pre-season training is more complicated:

Wed 5 Sept: 18.30-20.00 Monks Park School Astro
Thurs 13 Sept: 19.00-20.30 Indoor - UWE Centre for Sport
Tues 18 Sept: 19.00-20.30 Indoor - UWE Centre for Sport

For the indoor sessions please try to bring non-marking shoes. Sticks can be provided.

Normal training will commence on Thurs 27 Sept 19.00-20.30 on our new water based astro at UWE.

New Coach

Please join me in welcoming Chris Roberts as our new coach. We look forward to his input and help in producing another successful season.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM will be held on Tuesday 20th March, 7.30pm at Cafe Sport in the UWE Sports Centre.
The Chairman and Captains will give their reports of the year and next years officers of the club will be elected.
